Releasing Energy

You are coursing with unlimited energy. Energy moves through you into creation. Like waters in a river, your energy is constantly changing. A living river must flow. If the flow stops, the waters grow stagnant and the river dies. In order to maintain a healthy flow, old energy must be released to make room for the new. How would the river flow if the waterfall kept all of its water? Wherever your energy is dammed, you are obstructing yourself.

There are many ways to release energy. Some physical examples are stretching, yawning, burping, farting, crying, shuddering, etc. Any time your release energy, you are releasing built-up tension to be replaced with relaxation.

In this chapter, you’ll learn to release energy as spirit. Physical signs may or may not accompany the spiritual releases.


As spirit you have a lot of energy. Your body is slower-moving and less energetic. An important function of grounding, besides its use as a spiritual anchor, is its use in releasing energy. Grounding is like your personal waterfall. Grounding creates a safe connection for you as you begin to add more of your higher spiritual energy and awareness to your body. Grounding is important when you manipulate energy because, like an electrical grounding, you release any excess buildup. If the energy that you bring into your body becomes too intense, your grounding provides the safety release mechanism.


Your energy fills your body, flows through it, then flows down your grounding cord, your energy waterfall.

CHANGE YOUR GROUNDING CORD INTO THE MOTION PICTURE OF A WATERFALL.

You might see yourself as a well-spring of energy. You might think of your energy as water flowing from you down the waterfall to the center of the Earth. Be aware that your energy fills your body, flows through it, and continues to flow down your grounding cord to the center of the planet. The continuous motion picture validates that you and your energy are perpetually changing.

BE STILL FOR A MOMENT AND EXPERIENCE THE FLOW OF YOUR ENERGY. FEEL THE ENERGY AS IT MOVES FROM YOU DOWN TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH.


NOW PLAY WITH YOUR GROUNDING IMAGE; CHANGE THE FLOW OF ENERGY.

Try a slow, quiet, narrow waterfall. Then try a wide, rip-roaring waterfall. Feel the difference as you change the flow. At different times you may need different degrees of groundedness. For example, if you are making a lot of changes in your life, you may want the gusher grounding cord. When things are running smoothly, maybe the less active cord suits you best. Experiment each day to find your optimal grounding level for the moment. There is no such thing as being too grounded. Ground to your heart’s content!

BE AWARE OF ANY TENSION YOU HAVE.

Tension indicates a block to your flow of energy.


BREATHE DEEPLY. TAKE A REALLY SLOW, DEEP, ...WHEWW... BREATH. INHALE. AS YOU EXHALE, ALLOW ALL THE TENSION IN YOUR BODY TO DRAIN AND RELEASE DOWN YOUR GROUNDING CORD. INHALE. EXHALE.

Simply imagine that the tension is gradually breaking up and releasing and relaxing. Let the tension move out of your body to wash away down the waterfall. Repeat as necessary.

FEEL THE RELAXATION AS YOU RELEASE TENSION.

Everything is energy. Within your body, you have stored both your own innate energy—the energy that creates yourself and the things you want—and you have also collected and stored energy from people and things outside of you. Your own energy works for you and is what you are meant to use; it feels comfortable and harmonious. On the other hand, the energies you have collected from outside of you are foreign to your system and ultimately inappropriate for you. Even your best friend’s energy is foreign to you and it won’t work for you.


Another example of energy that won’t work for you is any energy of your own that is not from the present. Outdated energy is simply energy that you have outgrown, rather like clothing that is too small for you now. Future energy may be overwhelming or frightening since it is unknown.

Your body communicates a message of discomfort, tension, pain or disease wherever you have stored such inappropriate energies. You could compare your body’s complaints to an automobile breaking down because you put the wrong kind of fuel in it. Your own present-time energy relaxes your body. Foreign energy and past or future energy tell your body to tighten and constrict. To relieve tension, pain or disease in your body, you can release the foreign and non-present energies that cause the problems.


Now let’s take a look at how you can control your energy by using the grounding and centering techniques. Let’s actually manipulate some energy. You have already experienced grounding as a flow of energy from your body down to the center of the Earth. Well, the grounding cord is like an energy laundry chute. You can drop any energy you choose down the chute. You can consciously keep the energies you want, and discard the energies you do not want. You can consciously flush any impurities or “unclean” energies out of your system. What happens at the Earth’s core? The energy you release is neutralized, and recycled by the planet.

RELEASE ANY ENERGY YOU ARE READY TO LET GO OF.

ALLOW ANY COMMOTION IN YOUR THOUGHTS TO DRAIN AWAY DOWN YOUR GROUNDING.


As you begin to center, you may notice that your thoughts are very busy. Allow any distractions and busy thoughts to drain down through your body to your grounding cord and then to the center of the Earth. Clear room in your thoughts to be quiet and still. Release the events and the people in your day. Release the cashier and the billboard ad and the TV program and the cat. Release that uptight person who yelled at you.

NOTICE HOW YOU FEEL THE CHANGE IN YOUR ENERGY.

SIT FOR A MOMENT AND RELAX AWAY ANY ENERGY THAT IS NOT YOU.

Think about what you need to release in order to be yourself. Especially release your mother. Release who you were yesterday or even who you’ve been all your life. Release tomorrow. Dump the images of anything that is not you down the grounding chute. Now you have room to fill up with who you want to be—who you really are.


FROM THE CENTER OF YOUR HEAD, NOTICE IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING ANY DISCOMFORT.

NOW SPEND SOME TIME RELEASING THE ENERGY THAT CREATES THE DISCOMFORT.

You do not necessarily need to know where the energy came from. Simply allow the energy that creates the problem to drain away to the center of the earth. Remember to do this effortlessly. All it takes is the idea that it is happening.

TAKE SOME DEEP BREATHS AS YOU VISUALIZE THIS PROCESS OF CHANGE. FEEL THE CHANGE IN YOUR BODY AS YOU RELEASE THE UNCOMFORTABLE ENERGY.


Grounding is your way to relax. By releasing the stress of foreign energy, you make room for your own natural condition of relaxation. As you ground and focus in the center of your head, you are able to notice and cleanse your earthly temple—your body. As you quiet your thoughts and begin to drain away the commotion, you are cleansing your spiritual space. As you release foreign energy, grounding gives you more “elbow room” to live comfortably in your body. Since the foreign energy is leaving your system, you now have space to fill up with your own energy, which feels utterly relaxing to your body. By releasing energies that cause discord, you return to your natural state of harmony and balance.


There is an ideal you in this present moment. The ideal you contains all the energy you need to create exactly what you want. Any time you ground, you anchor that ideal you into your body, you plant the ideal you into this reality. When you ground, anything out of harmony with the ideal you will automatically begin draining away. By consciously releasing energy, you enhance and speed up this process, and make more room for the ideal you to be present. The more you ground, the more your life will be filled with the things you want.

NOW CHANGE YOUR GROUNDING CORD BACK TO THE SIMPLE SHAFT OF ENERGY. ADJUST THE ENERGY FLOW TO THE LEVEL THAT IS MOST COMFORTABLE.
